The Pandemic Policy Program's Gerald Parker, as well as other scientists and US officials, praised the collaboration between Chinese and American scientists in the midst of the novel Coronavirus outbreak. The Chinese government shared the genetic sequencing of the virus with the CDC, who quickly invent a diagnostic test and push the creation of a vaccine. American scientists have not yet been approved by the Chinese government to visit the country to help defend against the virus, but they say that the degree of transparency and collaboration has improved greatly since the SARS outbreak.
